Ελληνικό Δίκτυο για τα Υδρόβια Χωροκατακτητικά Είδη

Το ELNAIS είναι μια δυναμική διαδικτυακή πλατφόρμα πληροφορίας που στοχεύει στη συλλογή και αναφορά χωρικής πληροφορίας για τα Υδρόβια Ξενικά Είδη στις Ελληνικές Θάλασσες. Καλύπτει εσωτερικά, μεταβατικά και θαλάσσια ύδατα, συμπεριλαμβάνοντας όχι μόνο καλά εγκατεστημένα ξενικά είδη, αλλά επίσης και περιστασιακές αναφορές και κρυπτογενή είδη.

Ποια είναι τα ξενικά είδη?

Ξενικά είδη (συνώνυμο: αλλόχθονα είδη) είναι τα είδη, υποείδη ή χαμηλότερες ταξινομικές ομάδες, που απαντούν σε περιοχές πέραν της φυσικής εξάπλωσής τους. Η παρουσία τους σε μια νέα περιοχή είναι αποτέλεσμα της ηθελημένης ή τυχαίας εισαγωγής τους λόγω ανθρωπογενών δραστηριοτήτων. Τα Κράτη Μέλη της ΕΕ έχουν υποχρεώσεις και δεσμεύσεις από σχετικές νομοθεσίες, τόσο Ευρωπαϊκές όσο και διεθνείς, αναφορικά με τα ξενικά είδη [Οδηγία Πλαίσιο για τη Θαλάσσια Στρατηγική (MSFD); Στρατηγική για τη Βιοποικιλότητα].
